We are pleased to announce that Mrs Fielding (teacher in Year 2) is expecting her first baby – our best wishes go out to her and her husband.

Congratulations.

We are delighted that Mrs Zanib Rasool, one of our school governors and also an ex Thornhill pupil, was honoured with a MBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours list. Zanib has been involved in numerous activities over the year; and here are a few. She was instrumental in establishing the United Multi Cultural Centre. She is the Community Project Manager for Rotherham United Community Sports Trust and raised over a million pounds to develop sports in the local community. More recently she has been an active fundraiser for Oxfam.

Well done Zanib!

2013 School Performance Tables.

We have also received a letter from David Laws who is the Minister of States for Schools. He has congratulated us on the excellent performance of our Year 6 pupils in 2013 SATs. Our pupils are in the top performing 250 schools in terms of progress they make between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Well done children!
