Yesterday, January 11th, Chris from SMJ Falconry brought a small selection of birds of prey into our school to meet all the children in Year 4 and 3 to help them with their topic, Predator.
The first bird that the children were introduced to was Candy, a 5 year old African Eagle Owl. Next was Twilight, a 3 year old Barn owl, who had a big impact on the children with her white feathers and striking brown eyes. After that they met Timmy, an American Kestrel – all the children got to hold him whilst wearing a special glove. Then they were introduced to Jeff, a Peregrine Falcon (the fastest animal on our planet.) Finally, the children watched a flying display performed by Timmy.
