As part our topic ‘Towers, Tunnels and Turrets’ KS1 visited Conisbrough Castle. We explored the ruins, climbed the steep steps to the top of the keep and sketched the castle. We also took part in a workshop where we learned about the people who lived and worked in Conisbrough Castle 850 years ago. Some of us even dressed up as Lord Hamelin and Lady Isabel. We had a picnic lunch in the bailey and reenacted an attack from the moat. KS1 thoroughly enjoyed their trip and learned facts about medieval castles.
