On the 11th November we held a special remembrance school assembly followed by two minutes of quiet reflection and silence in classrooms at the 11th hour.

he significance and importance of Remembrance Day can be difficult.  To make itool took part in poppy from our youngest of children in the EYFS to Year 6.  This enabled lots of deep conversations and discussions about wars in the past, whilst paying special tribute to the families and soldiers who lost their lives.  The children enjoyed listening to and telling stories to their class peers about members of their families who were in the war.

We created a poetic craft poppy display of all the children’s poppies, taking inspiration from The Tower of London cascading poppies.  These works of art have been featured in the main school entrance using our themed ‘Lest We Forget’ Remembrance tent.
