Today, the 11th November, we stood for two minutes of quiet reflection and silence in classrooms at the 11th hour.

The significance and importance of Remembrance Day can be difficult.  Each class had their own collection box to buy poppies to support the British Legion, which also enabled lots of conversations and discussions about wars in the past, whilst paying special tribute to the families and soldiers who lost their lives.

We created a poetic craft poppy display of poppies made by the children, taking inspiration from last year’s Tower of London cascading poppies.  Many children were also introduced to the poem ‘Flanders Field’.  These works of art have been featured in the main school entrance using our themed ‘Lest We Forget’ Remembrance tent.
